Health insurance is a major expense for most people and it seems that today everyone is scrambling to find cheap health insurance here in Alabama. It should be no secret by now that the best – really the ONLY – place to find cheap health insurance in Alabama is online. But what you might not know is that even if you are buying your insurance online there are still things you can do that will save you even MORE money.
The first thing you’ll want to do is to set up an automatic payment out of your savings or checking account to make your monthly premium payment. If your insurance company doesn’t have to send you an expensive bill every month they save money and so do you!
If you smoke or use chew you simply need to quit. There is no point in thinking you’re going to find cheap health insurance if you’re still smoking or using chew. If you’re serious about saving money on health insurance then you’ve got to get serious about your health.
That means eating right and getting some exercise as well. Fast food, especially fried foods, are not good for you and they add tremendously to any weight problems you might have. It may seem difficult at first to change your eating habits, especially if you’re a fast food junkie, but it’s really not all that hard once you actually make the commitment and DO it.
Getting some exercise will make you both look and feel better – and it will ultimately save you money on both your actual health insurance as well as on your health care costs overall.
If you are not a frequent visitor to your doctor then you can save quite a bit of money every month if you’ll increase your co-payment from 25% to 50%.
Similarly, if you can afford to increase your deductible you’ll save a lot of money and you’ll save it almost instantly. The more you can afford to pay for your own health care the less you are going to pay for your health insurance.
And that brings us back to buying your health insurance online, where you will save the most money possible. Just be sure to look at prices on more than one of the comparison websites if you are truly serious about saving money. The more sites you make your price comparisons on the better chance you’ll have of finding the absolutely lowest price possible.
Good hunting – and good health!
But whether you decide on traditional health insurance or you are interested in one of the tax-free HSA accounts your best bet – by far – for finding the cheapest insurance in Alabama is to look for it online. Online insurance sellers have almost no overhead and they are able to pass their significant savings along to you.
Don’t make the mistake of just accepting the prices that you find on only one of the websites designed to let you compare prices on health insurance. Instead look at the prices from at least 3 different sites and then take the very best price you’ve found with the knowledge that you have really and truly found the cheapest medical insurance in the entire state of Alabama.

sorry buddy, I do not believe there is such an animal. I think "cheap health insurance" is about as extinct as dinosaurs. Right now I am paying almost $1000 per month for a family of 5 (actually 4 because my employer supposedly pays mine). The worst part is that the stupid plan isn't worth crap. it just doesn't pay for stuff like I should. I mean d@mnit if I pay 12000/year, I would expect to be able to get something out of that plan, but there are so many loopholes and stuff that I end up paying that and a bunch on top of it.
I could almost buy a car for that much money every year… Insurance companies are the biggest fraud ever passed unto the naive americans. Insurance companies are the DEVIL. We should get rid of all forms of insurance and promote personal responsibility. Yeah, like it used to be you know. You go to the doctor and pay for the services period. If doctors will have to deal directly with real people, they won't be able to charge the insane amounts they charge, because they'll have to look you in the eye.
Only a couple of months ago I hurt myself with an axe. It really wasn't much. They had to do an xray and 6 stitches. and that cost me almost $800. HELLO? 6 freegin stitches and an xray should not cost that much.

What state are you in? Depends on some states… like New Jersey is very expensive because they take anybody even with preexisting conditions. This site may help you to compare rates from diff insures, just decide which one is the best yourself

Well, each kid is going to cost you about $150 to $200 per month. As canadian citizens, I don't believe they're eligible for any assistance programs (read, welfare).
You COULD ask your employer to add that cost in. Try this site
