This was the Ron Paul method in his obstetrics practice. He either worked out a payment plan or worked pro bono for the people who really couldn't afford it.
I do four hours of free work every week, for the homeless and people with money problems. It's not an ideal solution because I'm working for nothing and the situation of the patients doesn't change. Since last year basic insurance is mandatory for everyone, but they are the ones who have to pay it so the situation is stalemated because they can't pay it.

This is the reason I support state subsidised medicine. You can't rely on all physicians to be charitable.

edit - That's fine for patients who can afford it. It would reduce any costs incurred through an insurance company, However the problem with medical care is that a large number of people can't afford to pay the costs immediately, or even as a stepped plan. The point of insurance is to eliminate surprise costs, but another cost is built into this overall.

Whoever can afford to bypass it will benefit, but this is not universally possible. And medical care is needed by more than one income group.

As long as you don't force everyone to have healthcare. That is the biggest problem with healthcare reform, the government forcing people to have healthcare when they don't want it or can't afford it. The bottom line is that when it comes to people worth helping, if you are making minimum wage and can't afford health care, you probably aren't worth helping. Making everyone have health insurance when they can't afford it puts a drain on the system. If hospitals must treat everyone equally, even poor people, the overall quality in treatment is lowered.

I also like the idea of eliminating employer-provided health insurance. I read that Congress is trying to bankrupt small business by forcing them to provide health insurance if their payroll exceeds 400 grand a year. That is ridiculous. No employer should be required to provide for health insurance.

Most likely you're subscribed to a only about a dozen spam mailing lists. One spam mailing list can spam on behalf of dozens of different companies, sending you huge amounts of emails. Per the can spam act these emails should have opt out instructions, follow these instructions. This should cut down on the largest amount of spam.

What I do is maintain two different email addresses. One I use for personal correspondences and so forth, and receiving important email. The other is for spam, and I never use it to receive important email, I just let the spam pile up in my 2nd email address. When websites ask for an email address, I put in my 2nd email address (or don't even use a real, valid email address at all).
If you don't use your primary email address on guestbooks, websites, forums, and other places that generate spam lists, eventually your email address will not have been used for so long that it will stop receiving much spam.

No. While I think his plan is better than McCains, it will not solve the insanity where there are loads of uninsured Americans, though there will be less than there are now.

At present, American kids are more likely to die before the age of five compared to kids born in Western Countries with universal healthcare. The insane bit of that is that the USA spends more money on healthcare per person than any other nation on the planet.

Only Nader is pushing for universal healthcare. Obama is not.
