Group Plans vs. Individual Plans –rong> Lots of people think that it is less expensive to buy health insurance through an employer or some form of a group plan, that is not always happens. The cost of your plan will depend on a number of different factors. If you company is going to pay all the premiums then it would be best to go for this option and receive low cost or free health insurance. If you are a healthy individual and you receive insurance through your company but they are not footing the bill then you would select individual insurance plan.
Group health insurance, must cover everyone on them, including pre-existing conditions. It means that healthy people on the plan balance out the costs that the insurance companies will have to pay for the people that have health problems who are also covered under the plan. While this works out well for people with health problems because the insurance company is needed to cover them, it makes the cost of insurance for reasonably healthy people higher than if they were buy an individual plan on their own. So, don’t think that your group or company sponsored health insurance plan is the most cost effective plan for you. Take your time to shop around and compare quotes and see if there is a more cost effective plan available to you.

No. By "reasonable", I'm assuming you mean $100 a month, or less.
Health insurance for someone in perfect health, at your age, is going to run between $600 and $1,000 a month. That's just what it costs.
If someone is offering you something in the $100 to $200 range, it's either a fake policy, a scam, or a discount plan – not insurance.

a Choosing between health plans is not as easy as it once was. Although there is no one "best" plan, there are some plans that will be better than others for you and your family's health needs. Plans differ, both in how much you have to pay and how easy it is to get the services you need. Although no plan will pay for all the costs associated with your medical care, some plans will cover more than others.

You may not be able to get a family plan right now.
First of all, most insurers for privately purchased plans will require the infant to be at least 8 weeks old befor they will be covered. And they have to pass a medical exam. (The only way you can generally add an infant to a plan immediately is if you already had the plan in effect, or if its a group plan through an employer.)
I tried plugging your information into ehealthinsurance.com and there were zero plans you were eligible for. Every plan either had a stipulation that the spouse had to be older than 17 and/or that the infant had to be at least 8 weeks old.
Perhaps your fiance should have considered these factors *before* he left the job that would have provided insurance to him. At least he could have added the baby, if not you. (Once you become a parent and a husband/wife, you have to start looking at the big picture…your actions don't just affect yourself anymore.)
Even if you could find a plan that would allow you as a 17 year old spouse and to enroll an infant younger than six weeks, the premium is likely to be $500 a month or even more. Health insurance is not cheap. If there is any way that your fiance can get group coverage through an employer, that would be your best bet.
