The Health Care crisis is one of the most serious issues to ever face our nation. The cost of good health care is on the rise and will continue to rise for years to come. Don’t fool yourself by saying your young and healthy and do not need good health insurance because everyone needs some form of coverage and what kind of coverage you need and how much can vary form person to person. Do keep in mind it takes just one bout with poor health or an unforeseen accident can cause you and your family financial ruin. There are many plans out there that are available to you that will ensure you have the protection when you need it.
Find: Discount Health Insurance
If you and your family qualify for some form of Medicaid or Medicare because of a low income status make sure you fill out all the necessary forms for this coverage. There are many plans that are available at the state and federal level. These plans have coverage for medical issues as well as for medical prescription drugs.
Buy Cheap: Health Insurance
You may ask how do I start my search for health coverage. Everything is made easier today by the assistance of the Internet and you can find various companies with different rates and coverages. Find the policy that is right for you and make sure that you compare the rates and coverage. Don’t buy more policy than you need but at the same time keep in mind that just because it is the cheapest it may not be the best for you.
It is wise to check with the company that you are employed, your union or any professional organization that you belong to so that you can see if some type of group coverage is offered. Health insurance through a large group plan is always cheaper.

Are costs being minimized? Has the cost of health care gone up at a lower rate than other costs?
> > > Without looking at anything other than my personal experience, I know that costs for me are going up. A follow-up visit to my doctor after pneumonia for less than a ten minute visit was $99.00. My first two visits for that were $217 and $192 respectively and again, I didn't see the doctor for more than fifteen minutes either visit (though I was in the office for a while).
Are increasing numbers of people getting access to the care they need? Is coverage expanding?
>>> Again, from my own experience, people I know are either covered by their employee plans, or have no coverage.
Are fewer and fewer people going bankrupt because they can't afford their health care costs?
>>> From the information I have read, medical bills are the reason most people still have to declare bankruptcy. It wouldn't be fewer people going bankrupt because they can't afford health care bills, but more.
Are employees all talking about what a joy and a pleasure it is to have employer-provided insurance?
The insurance I have is okay. The family deductible is still $1000 and our prescriptions run a couple hundred dollars (or a bit more) per month.
Are employers generally happy with the health care plans they provide to their employees?
>>>> I think small businesses are very unhappy with the health care plans they provide because they can't get very good plans without exorbitant premiums. Larger employers can, by virtue of numbers, get better deals.
Do people in managed care plans have freedom of choice about what doctors to see? Is it easy for them to locate, make an appointment with, and receive insurance coverage for the physicians of their choice?
>>>>>>> I think it depends on the particular plan.
Do insurance companies have a good track record of making payments promptly and efficiently, with a minimum of paperwork and other red tape?
>>> I would think not, and from personal experience, there are many hoops to jump through to get coverage.

FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

Believe it or not, there is at least one group that has pooled it's resources to do this. They aren't a genuine insurance company, but members do send in monthly amounts to help with keeping it going as well as contributions to help some who are going through Cancer, surgeries, etc. It is a more personal service, and I've read testimonials of people who were supported both in finances and compassion. Sounded interesting, I just never had the money for that or for insurance. And for what it's worth, I strongly disagree that we each have some inherent "right" to being insured, and yes, I suffer severe medical problems. I don't expect my Government to automatically insure all of us who can't afford it. The entire medical care industry in this nation is going to self-destruct because of how it's set up-it's just a matter of time. I have learned to be pro-active with my own health care, done the research, and treated some severe "untreatable" (with mainstream medicine) conditions with fabulous results. When you are motivated, it is amazing to discover the research done in Europe and other countries on plant and other matter in it's whole form. You get the science with no side-effects and no AMA or drug companies to patent/regulate/price it out of reach.

If only people could relate what happened to our educational system after the govt installed the Dept of Education to the complete takeover of health care, many eyes would be opened to the dangers.
And to think… the Dept of Education only meddled in the private markets' affairs on a smaller scale, and look at what it did.
Obamacare will wreck our economy without a doubt.

It will be difficult to get insurance for asthma meds now that you have the condition. The best way is to work somewhere with a good group insurance. I realize that may not be possible for you.
Another alternative is to try Ontario's Trillium program:
"The Trillium Drug Program (TDP) is intended for Ontario residents who have a valid Ontario Health Card and who have high prescription drug costs in relation to their net household income.
The TDP provides coverage for prescription drug products listed on the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary/Comparative Drug Index (Formulary) "
Hope that helps! link is below …

You can opt for medical services through your county health department (link below) or free clinic (link below). However, kids at that age have so many recommended routine check-ups that it’s best to have a doctor specifically for your baby. I’ve included a link for Insure Kids Now!, a Web site devoted to helping families find affordable health insurance.

You realize the government only pays 65% for the first six months, right? After that, you're on the hook for the full amount.
Yes, he could keep the cobra at the "low" rate during the first six months, but then he'd have to pay the full rate, until open enrollment comes around – whenever that is.
